Q: Acura RDX????
I am looking at an Acura RDX, and I wanted to know if anyone has one or has driven one.....what do you think?

A: I recently bought an rdx with tech package and have been loving it. I was also looking into the ford edge and would recommend dealing with acura over ford. The experience I had at the dealerships alone convinced me, but more than that, this crossover suv drives like a sports car. The technology in the cabin is just as fun to play with. Get the rdx! You will not regret it, and if money is not the issue, definitely get the tech package.
Q: Is it possible to put a k23 engine from an acura rdx to a honda crx?
my friend crashed his brand new acura rdx not too long ago and now its total (hes alive by the way with no injuries). but his motor is in brand new conditioned and i was thinking if i should buy his motor and install it in my crx. will it fit?
A: Yes, it will fit, but it will also be illegal if you live in California.

The SH-AWD transmission is an automatic and would more than likely not be used in the swap, therefore it WOULD be just as easy as any other K series swap. He would just use a 5 or 6 speed Manual K series transmission
Q: Is it safe to use 100 Octane Fuel in Acura RDX?
I have an 07 Acura RDX which states using a minimum of 91 octane, is there a maximum?
A: No, there is no maximim.
You can even use 100 octane on a car that only requires 83 ocane.
100 octane is expensive, but adds power to the car while in use.
It can add anywhere from 5 to 10HP.
Q: What your experience with gas mileage on the Acura RDX?
I am considering buying the Acura RDX for my wife. I have heard some nightmares about bad gas mileage for this car and would like to hear from any owners out there for true facts. I am also considering the Honda CRV which is a great car with good mileage however, my wife loves the luxury features of the Acura
A: Frankly the RDX is a POS. Honda comes up with a new turbo engine and let's face it....it sux donkey balls. Those K series engines are great by themselves but as soon as you throw in a turbo in there you are going to have to make more changes which Honda did not account for or rather spend on R&D. Give it a few more years. You might want to look into a Lexus.
And it's not all that fun. If you want a fun car get a manual transmission. Those levers under the steering are fake-mission.
Q: Can I use regular fuel in my Acura RDX?
I am buying an Acura RDX suv, and i mentioned to the dealer that it was a shame that premium fuel is so expensive. He replied that i could safely use regular in my vehicle, but i would lose a bit of performance. I would like to know if it will hurt the engine at all; i'm not worried about performance, but i want to take care of the engine. Thanks!
A: Be weary of advise from a sales person. Not all are ethical and they should be. If it says on your manual to put a certain grade of gasoline that is what you put in it. From experience I can tell you that if the manual says premium gasoline, you put premium gasoline. The reason premium is specified on certain models is because they are design to work with the high octane, and all the components from the spark plugs to the material on the head are design to withstand a specific heat capacity. With regular the vehicle engine has to be well built to the ignition fluctuation of regular gasoline. High performance vehicles or luxury vehicles rely on the constant ignition of premium to fully utilize a specific material either on the head or the block to produce optimum fuel and power performance. The reason vehicles that use premium are much more expensive is to offset the overall warranty cost to the manufacturer if the vehicle was to fail during it's warranty period. Most vehicles that use premium as soon as you put regular the valves will begin to knock and over time might bend or fatigue causing more problems. Another problem with using regular on a premium vehicle is transmission failure. Like you where told the loss of power is there, but it affects the vehicle in many ways from wearing down the alternator, to over wearing belts, reducing the performance of your air conditioner, improper cooling of your engine and the list goes on. Might not be able to see it in the first five years of life of a vehicle or while under warranty but as soon as it starts to need new parts you will start to see the cost of using regular. MY ADVISE IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO PUT PREMIUM ON A VEHICLE YOU ARE BUYING DON'T BUY THE VEHICLE. In the long run it will cost you much more...........

Q: Does anyone know when the body style of the Acura RDX will change?
I would like to buy a luxury small suv and of course the RDX would be my first choice. Just don't want to buy the current model now if a new one is coming out soon.
A: Well it's getting a facelift (taking on the company's grille) for the 2010 model year, as seen here http://rdx.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?p=10357130#post10357130 Since the RDX came out in 2006, one generation usually lasts 5-7 years. So, the full redesign will be between the 2011- 2012 model year... nothing is set in stone yet.
Q: How can I make the navigation system in my new acura rdx work for Puerto Rico?
I was told that I could download the PR maps to a cd and switch it with the navigation cd that came with my rdx, and that it would work. But i don't know were to download it from... any ideas..

Q: Using key to turn windows down in Acura RDX?
Is this function only available with the Tech Package? I saw this on the interactive showroom on the Acura website.
A: No, all the Acura models feature this. You put your key fob once to unlock the driver's door, twice for all doors, and hold unlock for all the windows to go down.
Q: Acura RDX or Toyota Highlander?
I was planning on getting the RDX but due to fuel costs I'm considering the highlander or highlander hybrid... I just need some input... I like the standard features on the Acura but when I was driving it I got about 15 mpg... Should I still go with the Acura?
A: The Acura is a compact luxury SUV.
The Toyota is a midsized SUV. The Highlander is bigger and gets worse gas mileage.
However, the Hybrid version gets better gas mileage than the Acura, but also costs more than the Acura.
The Acura has a smoother and quieter ride, but it is also more fun to drive because it is smaller and has a 4 cylinder turbocharged engine.
Both are extremely reliable. If I had the money to buy the car, I would go with the Acura. It looks better and it is more fun to own.

A: No, the navigation system is not standard on the base model. It is standard equipment on the technology package.
Q: why did the acura rdx come with a k23 turbocharged?
you'd think they have a lot more to their lineup such as the rsx or civic si to turbocharge their motor as many honda enthusiasts like to tune those cars but how come the RDX? it's just a crossover how is it benefitting from a turbocharger?
A: The turbo adds more power and low rpm torque, (cy using exhaust gas and heat to compress intake air), so that it can move the RDX sufficiently well. You should consider some stationwagons that actually hold more stuff and are more efficient. I heard the RD-X uses a lot of fuel.

A: theres no real place to plug it in without disassembling the entire stereo but if you have a cassette tape player you can go to walmart and buy a special cassette for $5 that has a headphone jack attached to it. Or you can get a radio transmitter for the ipod such as a dock or portable transmitter for like $20-$40 then just tune the radio to what the transmitter is set on

A: nope you can't hurt the car . just take it down to AMMCO and they tell you how much it can run you all you might need is the trany, threw out bearing, clutch, trany mounts, and your ready to go
