Q: What car should I get, Acura TSX or Convertible Volkswagen Beetle?
I'm 17, in college, and i'm going to get a car soon. I'm deciding between an Acura tsx and a convertible beetle. Which one gets better gas mileage? And which one is going to last me longer? I'm planning on getting used as well, so which year is best to buy? I also plan to travel often, so that's a factor too.
If there are any other suggestions about a better car please suggest it! Thanks :)
A: Well, the TSX is an all around better car. It is more fun to drive, has more room, and looks nicer. They will last about the same, and they get about the same mileage, so it is up to you, although convertible is naturally higher maintenance, since there are more things that can break. I actually am trying to convince my dad to get a TSX as his next car, since he is currently shopping for one.
Don't get me wrong, the Beetle is a nice car, but I would personally enjoy being able to comfortably carry more people, and have a nicer interior.
Last, don't forget that overall, car choice is an opinion. If you really like convertible Beetles, go for it, you only live once.
Q: How much will it cost to fix a LOCK on my '04 Acura TSX?
For the past month everytime I use my remote or the door lock/unlock buttons in my car...the door behind the passenger seat is not unlocking. It has to be manually locked and unlocked. Does anyone have an idea as to how much this might cost to get it fixed? Thank you!
I have a 2004 Acura TSX
Do you think a Honda dealership would charge less or the same as an Acura dealership?
A: Not sure on the cost for that car, but the part is called an actuator, its a little motor that pushes the lock up and down. You may just want to call the dealer and ask. It should just be something like an hour of labor and a $50 part.
Q: What are Mazda MX-6 OEM brake pads made from? How does it compare to Acura TSX pads? Got 80k miles from Mazda.
This is more curiosity than actual problem. The Mazda OEM pads were quiet and lasted forever (got 72k from the first set and seriously about 100k with the second set). It was a manual transmission and I am very efficient with brake use. I was just wondering how this would compare with the 2004 Acura TSX I just bought (automatic). Shop personnel who actually know only please.
A: i've seen my share of hondas and acuras that didn't have the first brake job done until after 100k miles. it depends how the car is driven mostly. the best thing you can do is buy oe pads because they are designed for your car.
Q: How much should I pay for a used Acura TSX?
I'm looking to buy a used Acura TSX from about 2005 with no more than 80,000 miles on it, and on used car sites I'm seeing 12K-15K...how much should I pay for it?
A: look at the trade in value on kbb trade in value and offer a few hundred dollars more
Q: Do the Acura TSX only have leather seats? Do they have regular seats without the leather?
I was looking for cars and I came across the 2006 Acura TSX and I only saw photos of the cars with leather seats and I dont want leather seats at all.
A: No, Acura is a luxury car company. These brands appeal to consumers/buyers who are interested in purchasing a luxury vehicle therefore they will most likely be shopping for a Lexus,BMW,Infiniti, Acura, Audi or Mercedes. Any luxury car company will never give the option of cloth seats. This would contradict the soul purpose of buying a luxury vehicle. Acura's only options when it comes to leather seats is interior colors and wood trims. If you don't want leather seats then I would suggest you go for a Toyota, Nissan, or something in the mid-class range.
Q: What is the drive belt & tensioner assembly on my Acura TSX?
I've been told by my mechanic that this part needs changing. What does it do, and how much should it cost? He quoted me $322 for parts & labor. Its a 2004 Acura TSX
A: It is your cam belt assembly & is crucial that it & the tension er are changed, between 90.000 &100.000 KM.I would say the quote is fair but if your not happy check around or goggle..
When i get my cam belt changed,i get them to do the lot,a/c,alternator,pump drive etc.I also get the auto serviced @ the same time.Good preventive maintenance, all i have to worry about are
tyres & brake pads.
My last one cost me $748 but that included 2 new front tyres..
Q: does Acura TSX come with a built in gps?
if it doesnt, will it come in options and how much would it cost for the built in gps option?
also, im debating whether to get an Acura TSX or Audi A4 as my first car. im more towards the TSX side. what do you think?
A: You have to get the model with the technology package. There is no stand alone option for a GPS.
Q: What year does the Acura TSX has timing belt ?
what year did Acura TSX put the chain in the engine instead of the timing belt?
thank you
A: they never had a timing belt. they have always had a timing chain.
Q: What is faster Acura TSX or Toyota Camry V6?
What will be faster: TSX or Camry V6 (3.0 liter since it is 2005). Per manufacturer TSX has 200hp and Camry V6 has 210hp. But they might be pretty even despite Camry having 10 more hp?
A: the tsx
the new tsx can do 0-60 in 6.2 or 6.3
Q: What are some good upgrades to my 2005 Acura TSX?
I purchased a used 2005 Acura TSX (it has an automatic, but that is all they had when you buy used you get what they got so no auto tranny insults)
As far as the performance chip goes Hondata offers a rebuild of the ECU even for Automatics, so would that be the best option since Hondata specializes with Honda Engines
A: ^ a ricer.
first off, performance chips. you can find some that work and some that doesnt. research a popular brand and find dyno results from customers. a cold air intake will give you 1 or 2 horsepower towards the top end and give you better throttle response and a sporty sound. but for the price of a cai and you just buy a k&n air filter it will do the same.
next is exhaust, more your engine breathes the more power. you can do single exhaust or dual exhaust. dual exhaust will give you more power but cost more.
then, a shift kit, without one your most likely to get beat by anything. ive raced 302's in my single port v6 and beat them simply because their tranny wouldnt shift out early to get into the power band.
pulleys, if they are any for acura, their a good mod. power all through the rpm.
limit slip differential, im not sure if any fwd has them stock, but a must need for serious power. 2 wheels spinning are better than one, and gives you a much better take off as the power goes to both wheels instead of one.
tires, a modded car isnt nothing with stock tires.
then of course weight reduction, every 10 you lose is 1 imaginary hp you gain, lose 100 gain 10 and a tenth off your 1/4 time.
nitrous, go with a 50 or 75 shot, go to a 100 or more your gonna have problems.
that should get you 15 to 25 hp give or take, each car responds differently to the next.

I would like to purchase an US Acura clutch kit for my Australian Honda Euro, will this part be compatible for my vehicle?

Q: How good is the acceleration on the Acura TSX four cylinder 08 or 09 model?
Does it have good pick up power getting on the freeways? I am from southern california, so I am interested in driving on our roads and freeways.

Q: What should I get honda civic si ep3 with acura tsx engine or nissan 240sx with sr20dett?

A: Honda Civic is The Best just customize it and you'll be fine ^^
Q: What is the best after market navigation system for an Acura TSX 08 or 09 model?
I would like to purchase and install a new nav system in this car. I am going to install a in dash unit.
Which ones are the best: Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer? Did you get any electronic faults after the installation? The ones that are offered by the car manufactures are not that good. What are the costs?
A: Go to crutchfield.com and follow their recommendations.
Q: How do I get the maintence required light turned off in my 2005 Acura TSX?
The light comes on automatically after 20,000 miles. I get my car serviced at a gas station, not a dealership and there is nothing wrong with it. I'm not going to take it to the dealer and pay big bucks just to have it turned off.
A: not sure if this will work for you but, worth a shot.
1) Turn they key to the II position
2) Turn the key to the off position, and push and hold in the odometer reset button
3) Turn they key back to the II position, while still holding the button.
4) After about 10-15 seconds, the light should go off.
hope it works
